Sarah Palin Wants to Meet Ronald Reagan's Closest Ally Margaret Thatcher But Aides Believe She's a Frivolous Figure

Sarah Palin wants to meet Ronald Reagan ally Margaret Thatcher on her trip to England, but the Iron Lady isn't that into her & allies believe she's a "frivolous figure" and "plain nuts."

Paul Revere history re-writer Sarah Palin just got another smackdown, courtesy of former President Ronald Reagan ally, Margaret Thatcher, or the Iron Lady, as she is known. Palin told the Sunday Times: "I am going to Sudan in July and hope to stop in England on the way. I am just hoping Mrs Thatcher is well enough to see me as I so admire her." Er, one problem Thatcher doesn't want to meet Sarah Palin. Well, here's the explanation from the Independent:
An aide said: "Nowadays, the Lady rarely meets people at all. If a meeting went ahead it would be very much low-key, and would very much depend on how things were on the day. We don't make firm appointments for this sort of meeting."
Alas, there's another smackdown courtesy of the Guardian:
It would appear that the reasons go deeper than Thatcher's frail health. Her allies believe that Palin is a frivolous figure who is unworthy of an audience with the Iron Lady. This is what one ally tells me: Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts.
She now wants to come across as more learned and having a deep grasp of foreign policy, right? Hah. To the Brits, "the dimwit is coming, the dimwit is coming, watch out.... Wonder how many other leaders and former leaders overseas have taken the same position about Sarah Palin? Just saying.....
