President Obama Says If He Were Rep. Anthony Weiner, He "Would Resign"

Could somebody please tell me why President Obama had to give his two cents about Rep. Anthony Weiner's sex scandal when he has bigger issues to worry about? This is for low level people in his inner circle to talk about. Not the president. In any case, President Obama told NBC's Ann Curry, " “I can tell you that if it was me, I would resign." Really? Couldn't people make the same argument since you haven't been able to see the creation of new jobs and offer more help to Main Street that you should take your exit as well? This is ridiculous and will now change the message he has tried to stay on for the last few weeks.
When you get to the point where, because of various personal distractions, you can't serve as effectively as you need to, at the time when people are worrying about jobs, and their mortgages, and paying the bills — then you should probably step back,’’ Obama said. Obama added that what Weiner did was “highly inappropriate’’ and that he has “embarrassed himself” and his wife and family, but said it will ultimately come down to a decision by Weiner and his constituents as to whether he will continue in office. Wow, nothing like your president throwing you under a bus though he has bigger issues to worry about. Don't get me wrong, what Anthony Weiner has done is just wrong and if you ask me, he gives me the creeps, but I really don't think this was President Obama's dogfight to get into. House leadership -- Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, as well as Senate majority leader Harry Reid, and DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz called for his resignation. Just leave it alone. Send some of your lower level people to apply pressure. Don't get involved directly.
