Rep. Anthony Weiner says he tweeted lewd picture of himself to Washington woman Gennette Cordova and lied about it saying his account was hacked.
Congressman Anthony Weiner takes podium. Says he takes full responsibility for his actions. He said last Friday night he deliberately tweeted the message of himself. This is shameful. He said he lied and said he meant to send it as a direct message. He said he has engaged in this behavior with six women over the last few years, before his marriage. He said he hasn't told the truth and deeply regret some things. He said he brought pain to people he cared about the most. He's in tears. He said he is deeply ashamed of his actions. He said he is NOT resigning. Now the question is if he used government property to engage in this disgusting behavior. I give his wife Huma Abedin credit for not standing by his side in this mess. Let him face the music alone. He did it alone. What is with it with powerful men and the ego trips they embark on? Eliot Spitzer engaged in the destructive behavior as well that cost him the governorship. He needs some serious help. You know, the truth always comes out. Always. He said he told his wife this morning about the tweet to Gennette Cordova. He claims his wife said she loved him and wants to work through this. Er, do you believe the message spewing from the messenger? Nah. He should have learned that the cover-up is worse than the crime. He even called a reporter a jackass. He could have admitted to this two Saturdays ago. His wife does not deserve this. Now the real trouble will start for Weiner -- house ethics investigation, among other things. The legal fallout from this could be huge.
