SHOCK: Crack Pipes Disguised as Novelties Being Sold at Many Stores in Detroit

SHAME: Crack pipes are being sold at Dollar stores, gas stations, liquor stores, and pretty much every store in the 6th precinct of Detroit, according to former police officer David Mahalab. He told CBS the pipes are disguised as novelty items. This is the same city that has a 47 percent  illiteracy rate.
“To avoid police detection and to try to avoid the law, they put a pen insert – (in) a glass tube, and try to evade the law, which talks about paraphernalia and stuff that has a second use,” says Mahalab.

Mahalab says they’re also disguised as a ballpoint pen or small glass vases with a rose sticking out of them. Mahalab says people may be surprised where the pipes are being sold. Source
The officer said the only punishment meted out to the establishments peddling these novelties was just a fine. The owners of these establishments should be hit with severe fines to stem this terrible trend. Then they wonder why the crime rate remains high!
